We are delighted to announce that Christina Zimmermann's THE TRUE FILM has won the Best User Experience award at the XR Awards in Brussels.

The XR Awards are among the most prestigious international awards in the field of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. Every year, they honor innovative projects that set new standards for creative use, technological excellence, and user-centricity. Being recognized in this environment is a great honor for us and confirms the intensive development work that went into THE TRUE FILM.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the funding institutions that made this project possible with their support. Without them, this success would not have been possible.

The VR project was developed in collaboration with INVR.Space, ZHdK, and HSLU.

We are delighted that Christina Zimmermann's VR experience THE TRUE FILM has been nominated in six categories at this year's XR Awards.

The nominations recognize the creative achievement and technical implementation of the project in the field of extended reality (XR). The award ceremony will take place on December 9 in Brussels as part of UnitedXR Europe.

THE TRUE FILM revives significant situations in the life of Siegfried Kracauer. While a historian digitizes his archive – Kracauer and his wife Elisabeth come to life as avatars and begin to manipulate their own story in the past. A journey through time to memory, identity, and the power of storytelling.

At this year's DOK.fest Munich, Christina Zimmermann wins the DOK.digital award with THE TRUE FILM. The prize for new narrative formats honours projects that use innovative methods to permanently change the structures of documentary storytelling.

THE TRUE FILM is an interactive VR experience currently in production. It is scheduled for completion in autumn 2024.
